Grade 3 Solar System Project

Grade 3 students are using Canva to create a poster for their unit of inquiry on the solar system.

Poster criteria:
  • Click on this template
  • Select 'use this template'












  • Then, click on 'Try now' 










  • Log in to your Canva account by selecting 'Log in with Google' from the drop-down menu














  • This template is an example and all of the elements on it can be changed. Colors and placement of items can be changed and the 'drawing' of the planet is only an example.
  • Poster must include the following:
    • Title (planet name)
    • One headline
    • 3-5 captions
    • Picture of planet

Grade 3 Researches the Solar System and Shares a Doc

Grade 3 students are using Google Docs to record their solar system research and learning how to share and 'Add to Drive' as well.

Instructions:

Open your class folder below and use the drop-down menu to select 'add to Drive.'

Make a copy of a Google document below and move it to your class folder




Change the 'Share' settings to 'view only.'

Grade 5 Uses Nearpod

Grade 5 students are doing an assignment in class using Nearpod.

Instructions:

  • Export the Google Slide presentation you have made as a PDF
    • Choose 'File' and then 'Download as'
  • Create a Nearpod account using your Google account
  • Create a new presentation and upload the PDF version of your Google Slide presentation
  • Next, add in the activities to get your listeners to share their thinking
  • There should be 3-5 activities

Google Add-ons

What are Google Add-ons?

Add-ons in Google Docs are tools built by third-party developers. You can install add-ons to bring more functionality to Docs, Forms, and Sheets.


Instructions:
  • Create a new Google Doc
  • Change the file name from 'untitled' to a new name (your name add-ons)
  • Select 'Get Add-ons' from the Add-on drop-down menu
  • Type in 'Openclipart' and  click on '+ FREE'
